Winter Wonderland near Paddington

Whilst Hyde Park is a brilliant place to visit all year round, at winter it gets the ultimate Christmas makeover and becomes Winter Wonderland. This incredible festival has been providing Londoners and tourists alike with an unrivalled winter experience for years thanks to its multitude of dazzling attractions including rides, displays, pop-up bars and more. Get yourself into the Christmas spirit in true London style this year by checking out some of Winter Wonderland’s terrific attractions that family members young and old will adore.

Ice rink

Night View of Natural History Museum, include Ice Rink

One of the best things about Winter Wonderland’s ice rink is its opening times. The rink is open between the hours of 10am and 10pm, meaning you can have a well-deserved lie-in in your snug bed at our Park Grand Lancaster Gate hotel before venturing out into the cold. Once you’re there you’ll be able to kick off the festive season in style by showing off your incredible skating skills on the largest open ice rink in the UK.

Worried about slipping over? Falling on the ice can be a less-than-enjoyable experience to say the least, which is why Winter Wonderland has its own ice guides to help you find your feet on the rink and avoid you heading back to our Lancaster Gate Hotel Hyde Park with unwelcome bumps and bruises.

Magical Ice Kingdom

Brand new for 2017 is the Winter Wonderland’s Magical Ice Kingdom. This awesome walking experience will give you the chance to see stunning ice sculptures depicting ancient gods, mythical monsters and lifelike sea creatures. The truly enchanting setting of the Magical Ice Kingdom is one of the most immersive attractions at Winter Wonderland and is sure to enthral both children and adults alike.

As you’ve probably already guessed, the Magical Ice Kingdom is pure gold for taking selfies thanks to the huge array of ice statues you’ll find here, but be warned; the temperature is -10 degrees to prevent the sculptures from melting, so make sure you wrap up warm!

Bar Hutte

Want to round off your Winter Wonderland experience with a few drinks to get you in the merry Christmas mood? Another attraction that’s new to this festive extravaganza in 2017 is Bar Hutte. Contrary to other pop-up bars in Winter Wonderland, Bar Hutte gives you and your group a perfect, private experience by providing you with your own cosy wooden hut.

Once you’re all snug inside you’ll have the luxury of being waited on by Winter Wonderland staff who will bring an array of delicious food and drink to your wintry retreat, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Each hut is also equipped with a karaoke machine so you can belt out those time-honoured Christmas classics that everyone loves.
