History
London’s Festival of Remembrance was first held in 1927 and has been held every year since then, except during World War II. The festival was originally known as the “Remembrance Festival,” but it was renamed the “Festival of Remembrance” in 1958 and is attended by nearly 6,000 audience members, veterans, and parades of servicemen and women.
In 2022, Queen Elizabeth II’s service and duty were commemorated at this renowned festival in London. As part of a weekend of tributes to war dead, the exceptional event was attended by the Royal Family, including King Charles III and his siblings, Princess Anne, and the Earl of Wessex. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Leader of the Opposition represented the two main political parties at the landmark London venue, moments away from your central London accommodation.
